A Rubber Banbury (commonly known as Banbury Mixer or rubber internal mixer) is core batch processing equipment for rubber compounding in the rubber industry. and has gradually become the standard mixing equipment worldwide for rubber manufacturing. The machine features a sealed figure-8 mixing chamber equipped with two counter-rotating rotors. Raw rubber together with compounding ingredients such as carbon black, fillers, sulfur, accelerators, plasticizers and antioxidants are fed into the chamber. A hydraulic or pneumatic floating ram presses materials downwards. As the rotors turn, powerful shear, compression and friction forces plasticize rubber and evenly disperse all additives inside the closed chamber.
