Why should rubber be masticated?

 

The purpose of rubber mastication is to shorten the macromolecular chain of rubber under the action of machinery, heat, and chemistry, so that the rubber temporarily loses its elasticity and increases its plasticity, so as to meet the technological requirements in the manufacturing process.
Such as: make the compounding agent easy to mix in, easy to calender and extrude, the molded pattern is clear, the shape is stable, the fluidity of the molding and injection rubber is increased, the rubber is easy to penetrate into the fiber, and the solubility and adhesion of the rubber can be improved.
Of course, some low-viscosity and constant-viscosity rubbers are sometimes not necessarily masticated, domestic standard granule rubber, standard Malaysian rubber (SMR).
